At Dough and Daughters we believe everyone should know to make bread.
Our courses provide confidence for new bakers and increase the knowledge of those more familiar with baking by first and foremost teaching how to master the dough.
Once you master the dough (we call this process owning the dough), the oven bakes the bread.
With information, practice and confidence, everyone can learn how to turn out all kinds of wonderful Danish and Scandinavian bread.
Our Danish Basic Bread Course
When? To be arranged
Cost, £155 per person.
This includes lunch and leaving in the afternoon with three or four breads to take home, plus recipes for everything we’ve made and top tips from Dough and Daughters.
All our courses are run from 10.00 am to 3.30pm
You will learn how to make two Basic Loaves, Bread Rolls, and Knack Brød and some wonderfully buttery Danish Cookies.
We offer coffee or tea with a freshly baked treat on arrival. During this time, we outline the running order of the day.
It is a full-packed day, so we get started fairly sharpish making our first batch of dough. After this, we start our second batch of dough. Then, during a quick break for coffee, tea or water, we recap what has been learnt so far.
We then get going on shaping, handling and understanding how to master the dough. This then gets baked, while we learn new skills with another batch of dough.
Lunch is laid out, and we all sample the fresh bread we’ve made and talk about the day.
